Customer photo review of Foam Cleanser

the matcha cleanser that made me stop mid-rinse and go excuse me??. this was a totally new brand for me, so i went in cautiously optimistic rather than emotionally invested. but matcha, rose pdrn, green tea, chamomile, trehalose, glycerin, hyaluronic acid... on paper, this was speaking my language. calm, barrier-aware, not trying to exfoliate me into spiritual enlightenment. still, my skin has the delicate constitution of a victorian child who has never known a draught-free hallway, so trust is earned slowly around here. for context, i'm annoyingly loyal to about four cleansers. la roche-posay is safe and dependable but a bit beige. anua heartleaf is nice but can tip dry on me. madagascar centella is gentle but doesn't give me that glow i want. timeline mitobiotic is probably my current favourite. so this had serious competition. i did my usual extremely cautious trial run. hands first. then inner forearm. then chest. then neck. face only once i'm convinced it's not going to ruin my life. and honestly... the moment i used it on my hands i felt something shift. when you add water, it starts out milky, then lathers into this incredibly soft, dense foam. not airy, not aggressive, just plush, cushiony bubbles that feel expensive in a way that's hard to explain but very easy to feel. there's a slight cooling sensation, very gentle, very soothing, and the scent is clean and delicate without screaming fragrance. no spa cosplay. no synthetic green tea trauma. just quietly nice. here's the part where i genuinely stopped and stared at my skin. after rinsing, my hands looked... smoother? almost filtered? like they'd been lightly blurred in real life? i don't say this lightly and i do not say this often, but i was stunned. there was no tightness, no squeaky feeling, no redness creeping in. just calm, moisturised skin that looked oddly perfected. i still don't fully understand which ingredient is pulling that off, so if you've tried this and noticed the same thing, please tell me i'm not imagining it. by the time i moved on to face use, i was already emotionally attached. and it held up. no burning, no itching, no delayed reaction. my skin felt clean but cushioned, hydrated but not coated. it actually felt like a low-ph cleanser doing what it claims to do, which should not be rare but somehow still is. this costs roughly the price of two iced chai lattes. if you're new here, chai is currency. welcome. for how elegant this feels on the skin, that price is borderline disrespectful in the best way. tldr: plush foam, zero drama, calming without being boring, and somehow makes your skin look quietly better immediately after rinsing. i went in sceptical. i came out converted.

Foam Cleanser

Customer photo review of Foam Cleanser

Gentle, low pH cleanser that actually feels calming, not stripped. This Matcha foam cleanser is one of those rare face washes that leaves skin clean and comfortable instead of tight. The cream lathers into a rich foam with just a little water, rinses off easily, and has a mild green tea matcha scent that does not hang around.

Foam Cleanser

This cleanser is great for people with oily and acne-prone skin. I guess my skin is too dry for it because it actually causes pimples on my chin and nose within a few hours of using it. My sister has oily skin, and she used this and really liked it. But even she can't use it more than twice a week or her skin starts to become irritated. The cleanser is more of a cream with very little lather. It's thick but not hard to spread across the skin. I don't know what they used to give it a pretty sheen, almost shiny, but it looks super pretty. I think it's a decent value for 3 bottles; I just wish I could actually use it...

Foam Cleanser

This Matcha PDRN cleanser has worked well for my skin and feels gentle enough for regular use. It foams nicely and does a good job removing everyday oil and impurities without feeling overly harsh. One of the things I like most is how calm my face feels after washing. The low pH formula seems well suited for a morning and evening routine, especially if you prefer a cleanser that does not leave your skin feeling stripped. The three pack also provides a generous amount of cleanser for the price. Overall, I have been happy with how gentle and effective it feels and would recommend it.

Foam Cleanser

I really enjoy this face wash! My husband bought it for me and I use it every day! I love how clean my face feels, the smell, and I notice a brightness in my skin. I actually got a compliment on how I looked refreshed after using it for a few days. Between that and the price point, you can't beat it! Try it out for yourself! I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Foam Cleanser

I like this cleanser well enough. I think the best thing about it is the texture because it is very satisfying to use. It is a thick cream that really lathers up. It does a good job of removing dirt and sunscreen. It did not overly dry out my face, but it also doesn't leave it hydrated either. I prefer to use this face wash when I'm more oily (summer), but usually will use a more hydrating one when my skin is more dry (like in winter). What I don't like is how strong the fragrance is on it. I actually really like the fragrance on the other Matcha PDRN products, but for some reason this one doesn't seem as balanced as those. Fortunately, the fragrance doesn't linger on my skin after cleansing. This actually didn't bother me at first about the face wash, but after many uses, I started to not like it as much. Despite the fragrance, I haven't had any issues with sensitivity.

Foam Cleanser

I really like this cleanser. It removes all the grime of the day and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean, almost "squeaky clean" but not dried out. Many cleansers are one or the other, my skin feels soft and moisturized but not particularly clean, or if it feels squeaky clean it feels taut and uncomfortably dry until I put on my moisturizer. The cleanser has a light, fresh scent, it lathers up nicely and rinses off easily. The verbiage on the label of "Born to Be Shine" cracks me up, a bit of a language issue I assume. I do appreciate that it is made in Korea. I have had a lot of luck with Korean skin care, it is typically well made out of quality ingredients, this one is no exception. I highly recommend it if you like your skin to feel completely clean but not dried out.

Foam Cleanser

This VELVENTE Matcha PDRN Korean Cleanser & Face Wash has been great at getting my skin clean, without stripping away any moisture, or making me break out. It's so gentle, yet still helps remove my makeup and mascara when I use it at night. It makes my skin feel soft, look slightly less red in the cheeks, and primes it well for the rest of my skincare routine. I think it's well worth the price too. And it's so gentle on my sensitive-combo skin. I definitely recommend it, but especially when used along with the matching toner pads and face cream too! Together they've made my skin look gorgeous with a couple weeks worth of use. I'm very happy with this face wash, and everything from this brand!

Foam Cleanser

This is the second product I have tried from this brand, and I have been a big fan of both of them. I have combination skin that is still acne prone even in my 40s, and I have a difficult time finding products that keep my skin clear without drying me out. To my surprise, my skin responds really well to these cleansers. First off, they lather up extremely well, and my face is solid white after application. I would say it is a bit more difficult to wash this off my face vs some other cleansers, but I use disposable towels, and it helps quite a bit. My skin feels clean afterwards without feeling tight or stripped. With three in this pack, the value is pretty good, and I imagine this will last me a long time before running out.

Foam Cleanser

This is a foaming wash, which I love. I use a small amount on wet skin and it lathers luxuriously. The formula is generous and effective without requiring a ton of product. It does a wonderful job of removing my makeup. I don't need a separate makeup remover - this cleanser handles it on its own, which simplifies my routine. I love the face cream by this same brand, so I was excited to try the face wash. It pairs well with the moisturizer, and they work together nicely as part of my skincare routine. The scent is subtle and light - not overpowering or artificial smelling. It's pleasant without being intrusive. The size is generous for this price. You're getting a good amount of product for what you're paying, which is always appreciated. Here's the thing to know: my skin feels squeaky clean after using this. That's great for removing buildup and makeup, but it might be a little strong for more sensitive skin types. If your skin is easily irritated or prone to dryness, you might want to proceed carefully with this one. It's effective, but it's not the gentlest option out there.

Foam Cleanser

I initially decided to order the VELVENTE Matcha PDRN Korean Cleanser because I had such a fantastic experience with their toner pads, and I was eager to see if their other skincare offerings would be just as effective. While I am fortunate enough to have skin that is generally free of acne, my main complexion concerns are enlarged pores and a persistent battle with rosacea, which frequently causes embarrassing and uncomfortable facial redness that can be difficult to manage. Since I began incorporating this cleanser into my daily routine alongside the toner pads, I have noticed a significant improvement in my skin's overall texture and tone; most importantly, the persistent redness has calmed down quite noticeably. My skin is extremely sensitive, and I was initially very worried that trying a new product might trigger an allergic reaction or unwanted flare-ups. To my relief, this product has been incredibly gentle and safe for my reactive skin. Beyond the visible results, the cleanser itself is a joy to use. It has a very pleasant, mild scent and a rich, luxurious texture that makes my morning and evening wash feel like a treat. It is also highly economical, as a little bit of the product creates enough lather to cover my entire face, meaning one bottle will last a long time. While my enlarged pores are still visible, I am genuinely excited to continue using this product to see the long-term results, and I am already eagerly waiting for the matching moisturizer to arrive so I can complete the set.

Foam Cleanser

This is awesome! I love the process of trying new face wash - always looking for something that will work better with my skin and still remove makeup. My skin is just so reactive and would rather I just leave it alone and go caveman style. Always looking for gentle cleaning solutions. So I was excited to give this a try! The feel of the cleanser is pretty thick and not runny. It feels amazing on my face, almost foamy and doesn't immediately just drip off. It starts out as a slippery soapy texture and then lathers up! Very smooth and creamy. It's obvious that it is a high-quality wash. I used it first after having a full face of makeup on. My skin was hot and irritated and this stuff definitely helped to soothe it! Impressive! I have issues with raw skin that is really just a reaction to products, and I did notice after a week of use that the raw patches on cheeks were starting to go away and I hadn't developed any new marks. The almost "wind burn" look was going away. My skin is also not stripped of moisture or it all dry. Now it doesn't remove every bit of makeup, especially waterproof ones, but I think most of us are used to using baby shampoo on our eyelids now. I get nice and clean but not tight! Good amount in the bottle too. Overall I'm a believer! It's an incredible value and I think it will last a long time!

Foam Cleanser

I love this line! Toner pads are a staple in my skincare routine and this cleanser is becoming one too. I have combo skin and this works great for me. I use cleanser as part of my morning and evening skincare as the first step and it works wonderfully. It feels soft but effective and leaves my skin feeling clean without feeling tight. No stripping of healthy oils. There's a mild natural scent to it which doesn't bother me at all and evaporates fast after rinsing. I follow with toner pads, serum and moisturizer. The set is a great deal because it comes in a size of 3, pretty good sized bottles so it will last me at least half a year with regular daily use (twice a day).

Foam Cleanser

Matcha pdrn. This product is amazing. I used proactive for 40 years and my face has never felt or looked cleaner. My skin is so soft now, it's amazing. I highly recommend this and it's gentle on your skin and Boy does a tiny bit, lather greatly.

Foam Cleanser

This product is amazing. I used proactive for 40 years and my face has never felt or looked cleaner. My skin is so soft now, it's amazing. I highly recommend this and it's gentle on your skin and boy does a tiny bit lather greatly.

Foam Cleanser

I actually like this product. Cleanses really well, only needs one wash and your face feels super clean. I haven't had any breakouts with it and it doesn't affect my sensitive skin. However, it's a bit drying so if I find something more hydrating I may not repurchase. But overall a really good product.

Foam Cleanser

This cleanser is made for acne prone skin. The cleanser has a creamy feel and an iridescent look. It should be applied to damp skin and worked into a lather. I find that the cleanser does not lather up a lot. It rinses off well and leaves the skin feeling very clean. I would recommend that an astringent or toner be used after the cleanser. I am older and I found that the cleanser stripped my skin too much. But I have two teenagers who tried it, and they feel that it readily gets rid of the oil on their face. My son said when he woke up in the morning after using the cleanser the night before, his skin did not feel as oily as usual. My daughter said her skin got too dry using it every day, so maybe every other day is a better use for this cleanser.

Foam Cleanser

This matcha cleanser has a creamy texture that feels calming the moment it touches my skin. It applies smoothly over damp skin and builds a soft foam that rinses clean. The scent is a light gentle green almost floral like note and with a faint green hue and a texture that stays soft throughout the cleanse. The formula includes matcha leaf extract along with moisturizing ingredients like glycerin & sorbitol which help keep my skin comfortable after rinsing. It works well when I want a simple daily wash that keeps everything balanced. My face feels clean and refreshed with a natural softness that makes it easy to move into the rest of my routine. This cleanser is an easy choice for days when I want a gentle wash that keeps my skin feeling calm and clear. It's nice having extra tubes so I always have a fresh one ready when I need it.

Foam Cleanser

This PDRN/matcha cleanser comes in a pack of three gigantic bottles! The cleanser is the consistency of a cream and it really cleans deeply and sufficiently. Maybe even a bit too intensely for me! You really only need about a dime or nickel sized amount. Rubbing it on my face with a bit of warm water quickly created a rich lather. After rinsing my skin was literally "squeaky" clean and starved for moisture. After using a toner and gel based moisturizer my skin felt rejuvenated and refreshed. All in all I would recommend this cleanser for its excellent value, but you have to make sure to moisturize. If you don't this could strip your skin too dry, resulting in an undesirable excess production of oil (+ breakouts to follow).

Foam Cleanser

This pack of 3 Matcha PDRN face cleansers by Velvente are great for those with oily, combo or normal skin, especially if you are looking for a second cleanse after using an oil cleanser. This is a classic saponified, alkaline foaming cleanser which means it combines fatty acids with a strong base to create a dense, creamy lather. It's meant for a high clarifying cleanse. Hydration is provided with glycerin to counteract the tightness and various antioxidants are included including green tea extract, PDRN (from rose), licorice root, and white truffle. The Blue Complex botanical blend is comprised of lavender, chamomile, cornflower, clary sage, and hyacinth to provide mild calming properties. It does include synthetic fragrances which I could do without, but the scent isn't overpowering. This does create a dense creamy lather but it's not really difficult to rinse off like other products with that texture. $39 for 3 tubes makes them just $13 each which is a good deal.

Foam Cleanser

I have dry, sensitive, mature skin, so I have to be very careful about the cleansers I use. I'm happy to say that I have had no adverse reaction to this cleanser. It feels gentle on my skin and doesn't leave my face feeling stripped, tight, or overly dry after washing. I like the soft foam and how clean my skin feels without that uncomfortable "squeaky clean" feeling. It has been a pleasant addition to my skincare routine, especially because many products that claim to be gentle still cause irritation for me. I also like that this is a 3-pack, which makes it a good value and means I won't have to reorder as frequently. So far, I'm very pleased with this cleanser and would recommend it to others with dry or sensitive skin who have trouble finding a face wash that their skin tolerates well.

Foam Cleanser

It has a mild, fresh matcha/green tea scent that isn't overpowering, and it foams up nicely without needing to use a lot of product. My skin feels clean and refreshed after washing, but it doesn't leave that overly dry or tight feeling that some cleansers can. I also really like the low-pH formula because it feels gentle enough for everyday use. The packaging looks clean and well made, and getting three bottles in the set is a nice bonus, especially if you use cleanser every morning and night. The texture is easy to work into the skin, and it does a good job removing the usual oil and daily buildup. Overall, I like that it focuses on being gentle while still leaving the skin feeling fresh and clean.

Foam Cleanser

Late 40s, sensitive dry combo skin. My skin is prone to bad breakouts that take weeks to clear. My preferences are: unscented, light weight, gel creams, gentle. I LOVE this stuff. Tell me all you want, I'll never listen to the idea that I don't need foam for something to clean. This has the best, whipped cream, marshmallowy, dense, foamy gooey goodness and I am 100% here for it. Reminds me of rice water cleanser from The Face Shop or my favorite Tony Moly Peach punch. This cleanses without stripping my skin. Soft and clean and completely non-irritating. How much do you need? Tiny tiny amount. I make a small stripe on my damp hands and start rubbing them together and it expands. And expands some more. Add a tiny bit more water, it just keeps going. The foam is so dense and thick that it feels like my hands never touch my face. The scent: I mostly get green, maybe some rose? It's not overwhelmingly strong although it's definitely there. Once rinsed away I don't feel like the scent lingers.

Foam Cleanser

I am seriously impressed with this cleanser! It works AMAZING and leaves my skin feeling clean, fresh, and soft without that overly stripped or tight feeling that some cleansers can leave behind. I especially love that it is made for sensitive and reactive skin. The formula feels gentle while still actually doing its job and getting my skin thoroughly clean. It has quickly become one of those products I genuinely look forward to using in my skincare routine. The value is also fantastic. You get THREE full size 5.07 oz tubes in this pack, so you are getting over 15 ounces total. A little goes a long way with cleanser, so this three pack should last quite a while. I would absolutely give this more than 5 stars if I could. Great formula, great results, and an excellent value for the amount you receive. Definitely one I would purchase again!

Foam Cleanser

It's good for sensitive skin...may your face feel fresh, clean and smooth... love it

Foam Cleanser

I have been using the Velvente Matcha toner pads, face wash, and cream for a few days. The face wash is nice and thick which means a little goes a long way. It foams nicely and my face feels super clean after using it and not dry at all. All of the products have the same scent. I would prefer no scent since I am very sensitive to scents, but it isn't bad or super over-powering for most people. Once it is washed off, there is no lingering smell, so I appreciate that. If you scan all beauty supplies through the Yuka app, this face wash doesn't even get a good rating, so note that there are ingredients you may want to research. Overall, it seems like it is working as described and the value is good for two bottles that seem like they will last a while.

Foam Cleanser

VELVENTE uses rose PDRN in their wonderful Korean skin care products. I did not know what PDRN was and decided to look it up. PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) is a biopolymer made from DNA fragments. 'Salmon PDRN comes from animal DNA and focuses on clinical-grade repair, while rose PDRN is a plant-based, vegan alternative focused on soothing and antioxidant protection.' Glad this Born to Shine cleanser uses the vegan option. The cleanser is thick, rich and creamy. A tiny dab is all you need to work into your damp face. So the 5.07 fl. oz. container will last a while. This is also a two pack deal. It smells lovely like all the Velvente products. Joining the rose PDRN are Jeju Matcha extract and Blue Complex, working together to hydrate, remove impurities, protect skin and restore your natural glow.

Foam Cleanser

This Velvente Matcha Born to Be Shine Cleanser comes in a convenient 2-pack, offering plenty of product for daily use. I like the rich lather that provides a deep, refreshing clean. However, a closer look at the label reveals several potentially concerning ingredients. It relies heavily on saponified fatty acids, which create a high-pH, soap-based wash that can strip the skin's natural moisture barrier and cause tightness. After a few uses, my skin felt tight, so I stopped using it. Additionally, the formula includes synthetic fragrance, PEG-100 Stearate, and artificial colorants, all of which are unnecessary. It works well if you want a squeaky-clean finish, but it is filled with unnecessary, harmful ingredients.

Foam Cleanser

What a great cleanser! The ingredients in here are so good - there's matcha, rose PDRN, and blue complex. I have to admit, I haven't seen these ingredients in cleansers before and I fancy myself a skincare enthusiast. So discovering this has been really cool. The texture is really nice. It foams up like a dream and rinses clean. But not squeaky clean, which is really nice. I found this to be a gentle and effective cleanser, but I do want to note, if you are wearing a heavy duty sunscreen, or eye makeup or a heavy foundation, I don't think this would rinse that clean. I would recommend a cleansing oil first and use this as a second step. Another thing to note: this is not fragrance free. Overall, this is a lovely cleanser and experience, that I would recommend! Given that this is a 2 pack, I think it's really good value for money.

Foam Cleanser

I've been using the VELVENTE Matcha PDRN Korean Cleanser on my sensitive, acne-prone skin, and it's been a pleasant surprise. The low-pH formula cleans effectively without leaving my face feeling tight, dry, or irritated afterward. The cleanser creates a light, creamy lather that removes excess oil, sunscreen, and daily grime with ease. I especially like that it leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed while still maintaining moisture. Many acne-focused cleansers can be overly harsh, but this one feels much gentler and better suited for everyday use. The matcha-based formula gives it a fresh feel, and I've noticed less redness compared to some of the stronger cleansers I've used in the past. My skin feels smoother and calmer after washing.

Foam Cleanser

This review is for VELVENTE Matcha PDRN Korean Cleanser & Face Wash, Acne-Prone Sensitive Skin. It comes in a squeeze tube with a flip top cap. The cleanser itself is white and has a relatively firm texture, which makes it a bit hard to squeeze out of the tube. Once it comes out of the tube it is easy to distribute on my wet face as it forms a creamy lather. The scent of the cleanser is fresh and pleasant - I really like it. Rinsing off the product is easy and fast as well and afterwards, my skin feels soft and clean without being irritated, dry or taut. I think this is a good and gentle cleanser at an appropriate price point ($27 for a pack of two at time of review) and I can definitely recommend this product.

Foam Cleanser

It helped my skin a lot! I used to have extremely oily skin (specifically the facial area) but after using this AMAZING product, my face is much clearer, less fine lines & less oily! Clearly the BEST Matcha products I've ever used! LOVE it! Definitely recommend!

Foam Cleanser

Love this face wash! It's lightweight, doesn't break me out even with having sensitive skin. It's effective and moisturizing with no overpowering fragrance. It's worth every penny!

Finally a Korean cleanser my rosacea skin doesn't hate. Calmed redness in 2 weeks. I've bought and returned probably 12 cleansers in the last two years. Sensitive, acne-prone, reactive skin.... you name a cleanser, it either burned or broke me out. So I was skeptical about this one too. But here's what happened after 14 days using it morning + night: - Redness on my cheeks visibly calmer... this was the biggest one for me - Zero tightness after washing (the low-pH thing is real) - Melts off SPF and makeup without needing to double cleanse - No new breakouts which honestly never happens when I try something new - Skin actually feels softer, not stripped The foam is really gentle, kind of luxurious to be honest. Smells subtly like matcha, not chemical-y like most K-beauty stuff I've tried. A little goes a long way, I've been using it 3 weeks and barely made a dent in the tube. Ingredient list is legit, PDRN, Jeju Matcha, that Blue Complex of botanicals (chamomile, lavender, etc.), you can tell they thought into it instead of just slapping "matcha" on the label. Would I buy again? Absolutely. Already eyeing their toner pads and cream to complete the routine. Best for: sensitive, reactive, acne-prone, or just skin that's tired of being punished by cleansers Won't work for: if you like squeaky-clean stripped feeling (this doesn't do that) Hope this helps someone else who's been through the cleanser trial-and-error hell.
